The Board of Trustees is made up of 6 local people, with a vast range of knowledge and expertise. The Trustees include community members, living in Sacriston where the organisation are based, previous participants, and local professionals with lived experience running throughout.
The role of Charity Trustees is to ensure that the charity is ran in line with its charitable purposes, the law, and its governing document. They act collectively to safeguard the charity’s assets and make decisions in the best interests of its beneficiaries.
Emma is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Live Well North East, where she leads the organisation’s strategic direction, sustainability, and impact in communities. Working closely with the Board of Trustees, she is responsible for ensuring the charity delivers on its mission, meets governance responsibilities, and creates meaningful, measurable change. With a lifelong passion for supporting others, Emma’s journey began at a young age - setting up peer support groups in school and going on to study psychology and sociology, earning a degree in psychology, and going on to work in childcare and health and wellness coaching. She has continued to develop her expertise across wellbeing, child development, and organisational leadership. Emma firmly believes in the power of people - that even a small group can make a significant difference. She is incredibly proud of what Live Well North East has achieved over the past eight years and is deeply grateful for the dedicated team around her, each bringing unique strengths and perspectives. Driven by a belief that everyone deserves access to the support and knowledge needed to live well, Emma remains committed to creating opportunities for people to overcome challenges, feel they belong, and thrive.
